My Story
When it came to photography, I've always considered myself to be a hobbyist. I grew up taking photos with my mom's phone camera. When I was able to get my own phone, I mainly used it for photos of flowers or the animals we had at the time.
Growing up I wanted to become a Computer Hardware Engineer. I watched videos and read books about computer technology. Once I reached high school, I was able to take a 3-year course in computer science. I became top of my class very quickly. However, I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would.
When I was 16 I asked my father to buy me a professional camera. I received a Canon Rebel XT (350D) for Christmas. I began taking photos of my family and friends, along with nature, and our family dog and cat, along with my sister's turtle. I'm not sure when I realized I wanted to become a photographer, but somewhere between 10th and 11th grade I realized becoming an Engineer isn't what I wanted.
I continued my Computer Science course and graduated in the top 10 of my class. After I graduated high school, I began looking into photography courses. I now have my own business, as a portrait/event photographer. I'm now a member of Profesional Photographers of America (PPA).
I still love to take photos of nature and other stuff. I sell what photos I love best on my online store. Looking back I'm glad I stuck to my Computer Science course because, without it, I wouldn't have known the technical aspects of photography.
I'm thankful for my mother who supported my career change, and my dog Princess and my cat Zorro who are the cutest models I could ask for.
